A Dual Action Polisher (DA Polisher) is a versatile power tool used mainly for car detailing, paint correction, and surface polishing. A tinge to the 'dual action' nickname is the fact that it is doing two motions at the same time as in a combination of orbital (random) motion and rotation. It even pressure distribution with the help of this dual movement and the possibility of surface damage are much lower, which makes it perfect for both newbies and professionals.
Safety on painted surfaces is one of the most important benefits that dual-action polishers offer. While rotary polishers involve a single-axis spinning and can heat up to an extreme level, DA polishers are much softer and kinder and thus, the risk of burning paint or leaving ugly swirl marks on it is also minimal. It is the easiest way of removing light scratches or oxidation and swirl marks, and it can also replace glossy or wax if necessary.
DA polisher packs a variety of interchangeable foam or microfiber pads that each has a different task, like cutting, polishing, or finishing. Many models are equipped with speed control settings that make it possible to match the force with the need and the result will not only be safe but also efficient if the right choice is made.
